Vitamin C
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that vitamin C plays and important function in the human body. It can help fight things like colds, the flu and it was discovered years ago it helps improve the overall health of your skin. That’s why so many cosmetic companies put in their products.
Sometimes it’s the active ingredient in the product or in others, it acts to supplement other ingredients found in the treatment. Either way you look at it, vitamin C has been proven to help the body maintain its health.
How can Vitamin C help me lose weight?
Let’s get a little bit more specific. How does it help? Well, the body naturally produces a thing called collagen. This is important because it’s found in muscle tissue, bones, tendons and in the skin. Collagen has been called the “glue” that keeps the body together.
As the body ages, for whatever reason it decreases the production of collagen which results in wrinkles, deep facial lines and bags under the eyes. Vitamin C aids the body in the production of collagen, and by doing so the structural support of the skin improves making it look healthier and more vibrant.
It’s also an effective anti-oxidant. Anti-oxidants reduce the process of oxidation that results when free radicals in the human body attack important cells. Once they attack the process can result in oxidation. This oxidation process, coupled with environmental factors like sun damage, smoking or other pollutants damages the skin. Vitamin C combats this problem by acting as one of these anti-oxidants, and killing these free radicals before they can further damage the skin.
Final thoughts
The problem seems to be in how to get this excellent vitamin into the skin. If not used properly, vitamin C can really be limited in what it can do for the body. The higher concentrations you can get into the skin, the better. If vitamin C comes in contact with air, it mutates and essentially becomes useless. Make sure if you purchase a cream with vitamin C that it has been properly packaged. These are usually a little bit more money, but worth it.
