Knu: New You
Knu: New You is one of several products made and marketed by Michael Todd. Aol.stylists declared it to be the anti-aging “it” product of the year. I have no idea who those people are and if that actually means something or not. I do know this—this product is made with snail secretions. I’m not kidding you, that sounds strange but it’s one of the main components of this anti-aging agent.
Supposedly, snail skin is very similar to our skin. It was discovered that the slimy stuff the cells excrete can rejuvenate and protect the snail’s skin. Scientists wanted to see if that goo could actually help in the human skin. Cosmetic companies got wind of it and presto! You’ve got yourself a skin care product with snail secretions in it.
Is that all?
I wonder though, if the more important ingredients aren’t actually Matrixyl 3000 and Keratinocyte Growth Factor or KFG. The website claims them to be the “other” active ingredients and, again I wonder if most of this products power comes from these two ingredients.
Matrixyl 3000 is a type of peptide that helps to produce collagen. Collagen gives skin it’s natural look, while keeping it strong and vibrant. Matrixyl 3000 is a fairly common ingredient in many popular skin products. It has been shown to help reduce lines and wrinkles from the target area.
KFG is usually included in hair re-growth products but is also thought to help repair damaged skin. I can see why the included in the product, but at the same time I can’t either. I know it’s supposed to help heal the skin or help with it’s growth but I have a harder time seeing where it will actually help get rid of wrinkles or lines. I might be missing something here but right now it just seems a little odd to me.
Final thoughts
It seems like a reasonable product. That’s about all I can tell you however. They fail to list the ingredient table, and the dosage amounts going into the product. That raises a bit of a concern for me.
Also, the price tag is going to be steeper then usual. It will cost you about $130 per bottle. I’m not sure how long that will last you. I’m assuming no shorter then a month.
They also offer a 30-day guarantee, and while that’s not the best on the market at least they’ve got one. The problem with 30-day guarantee—which is why we like them to be longer—is some products take several weeks if not a month to show results. By the time you realize it’s not working, it could be to late to get your money back.
